Why do dogs chew?
Understanding why your dog is chewing up your items at home will help you to get him to stop.
Here are some reasons.
Curiosity
Some dogs chew just out of curiosity. They will sniff, tap their paws on the object and then chew it.
This is more common in puppies than older dogs. What do you think babies put in their mouths when they are young? It’s the same as a dog chewing on anything that he finds interesting.
Teething
Usually, it takes about six months for a puppy to grow strong new teeth. During teething, the puppy will feel some discomfort around their gums.
They can also relieve their discomfort by chewing.
