7. Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS).
Restless Leg Syndrome is a condition where anxiety can manifest in the legs. Restless Leg Syndrome is characterized by an unpleasant urge to walk or move your legs. This condition is thought to be a result of sleep disorders, such as insomnia.
The symptoms usually occur late at night, or when you are already sleeping. Researchers say that even though RLS can be treated medically, sufferers still have trouble sleeping. The reason for this is that the medication used to treat RLS does not target glutamate – the compound that keeps you awake. There are many natural remedies to help combat RLS.
Regular exercise can help stimulate circulation and reduce the need for muscle stimulation. Walking during your lunch hour can help. Stretching your legs at the beginning and end of your day can also help ease RLS. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.
