6. You use your devices in bed
You might not be getting the most out of your device if you scroll through Instagram, or open Netflix so you can catch up on your favorite series when you should be sleeping. Sleep doctors say that not all electronic devices before bedtime are harmful. Some people find it relaxing and enjoyable to watch television before falling asleep.
However, interactive activities — such as answering emails, sending tweets, scrolling the news feed or playing games — keep the from resting. Too much brain activity can affect the body. Researchers say that the more devices used before bedtime, the greater the risk of insomnia.
Using your device in bed can also expose you to harmful amounts of blue-light. The normal production of melatonin stops when your retina is exposed. This can affect your sleep patterns and make you feel drained the next morning.
