4. Watch the clock
Sleep doctors say that looking at the clock is the worst thing you can possibly do when you are unable to fall asleep. You can feel anxious by watching the clock, as you know in real time how much time you have until you wake up. You feel more alert and are urged to get to bed.
This can create the opposite effect of what you want. hormones will also start to react, which can cause different distressing feelings. It can cause stress on your mind and body, leaving you tired and stressed in the morning. It might be time for you to do some decluttering if this is something that happens often.
You can reduce anxiety by moving or removing clocks out of your line-of-sight. Put your phone and other devices out of sight to avoid checking the clock.
