Dog Shampoos
Using the correct shampoo will make bathing your dog much more efficient. Choose a shampoo without soap that is designed for dogs. Avoid formulas that are overly colored or scented.
- Tear-free shampoo helps protect your dog’s eyes during baths. It is designed to soothe mildly inflamed skin and reduce itching.
- Natural Shampoo contains no chemicals and is often enriched with herbs that improve the skin and coat.
- A veterinarian can prescribe medicated shampoos to treat allergies and other skin conditions in dogs.
- conditioners can be used to keep your dog’s coat hydrated, shiny and tangle free. Some conditioners are meant to be rinsed off, while others can simply be dried on. It is not necessary to use conditioners.
- Medicated Dips kill external parasites such as fleas and mange. There are now safer alternatives to flea dips (dips contain chemicals that can irritate skin, mucous membranes, and eyes). Dips are still required to treat certain skin conditions. If your vet feels that medicated dips are needed for your dog, he will suggest them.
