What To Pack For Thailand
These Thailand travel tips will help you to pack the right way.
It is not necessary to bring much when you travel to Thailand. The weather there is always hot. You can always buy what you need in Thailand. Here are some of our top recommendations for packing when traveling to Thailand.
Although you can live in flip-flops and a bathingsuit, the cities have become quite stylish so it is nice to dress up.
Pack lightweight, breathable clothing.
Thailand is humid and hot. You don’t need to wear heavy clothes. You will need a bathing suit, shorts and t-shirts.
For jungle and mountain treks, hiking boots or shoes will be useful.
- Sarongs can be used in many ways. You can use it to cover up while visiting temples or as a towel. It’s also a great way to keep cool at night by using it as a lightweight sheet. For more ideas, check out our The Simple Sarong.
- Pack a long-sleeved top for women to wear when entering temples. For the same reason, a skirt is also a good option. I usually just wrap a sarong over my shorts.
- Flip-Flops- Flip-Flops, Thongs or Jandals, whatever you call them, flip-flops in Thailand are a necessity. It is easy to slip them on and off as you enter temples. You don’t require much footwear, unless you plan to go hiking. Pack some lightweight hiking shoes if you plan to go on a hike.
- Backpacks We prefer backpacks to suitcases for Thailand, as you will be traveling on boats, motorcycles, and trains. Backpacks make it easier to transport and they don’t require you to roll through the sand on Thailand’s beautiful beaches.
We purchase a large amount of our clothing from Thailand. The fabric is light and ideal for the climate.
