Thailand: Things to See and Do
- Climb Railay – We first went rock climbing in Railay in 2000. Since then, we have continued to climb in Thailand. King Klimbers & Hot Rocks is our favorite shop.
- Go Sea Kayaking through the Hongs in Phuket
- Visit an Elephant Sanctuary or volunteer
- Join the Songkran Water Fight – The largest in the world. It’s actually the Thai New year and they celebrate it with a lot water.
- Sign up for the Muay Thai kickboxing course and immerse yourself in the culture.
- Take a cooking class – Thai cuisine is popular all over the world, and cooking classes are offered in many parts of the country. Sign up for an intensive multi-day cooking course to get to know Thai cuisine.
- Beaches- Thailand is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Tourists flock to places like Phuket and Kho Samui but there are also many other beaches, such as Railay and Ao Nang near the Malaysian border.
- Avoid Pattaya Beach. It’s overcrowded and downright depressing.
- The Bridge on the River Kwai was made famous by the film and it was an important strategic location in WWII. Here is a memorial for soldiers held as POWs under unbearable conditions.
