3. Rashes
A rash can appear when syphilis has reached the second stage. The rash usually appears on the soles and heels of the hands. This rash will look like the sores or ulcers that were present during the initial stage. The rash will usually become itchy. This itching may last for a long time.
You should seek medical help if you had previously experienced sores on your feet and hands that disappeared. This rash is caused by the inactivity of the lymphatic systems. In order to fight the infection, the body’s lymphatic system is inactive. This causes inflammation of the epidermis. The sooner you begin treatment for the infection, the better. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor.
