9. Swelling
If there is an infection, the ears can become inflamed. The swelling may be mild or can make the ear appear puffy or large in extreme cases. This is part of the body’s response to an infection.
Swelling can be a sign that an external ear infection is present. This is due to microbes invading the outer part. Swelling can feel hot or warm and be accompanied by a pain.
This is a sign that the infection has worsened. Be sure to catch it early.
