5. Fever
A high temperature is one of the early signs of an infection or illness. Children are more sensitive to heat and cold than adults and therefore tend to have high fevers. This can be due to ear infections or other problems. Adults can also run a high fever when they have any type of infection in their body.
Aspirin and other medications that regulate fever are important for treating a fever if the temperature is too high.
Fever is not the only symptom associated with an ear infection. Other symptoms, like ear swelling or pain may also be present.
