4. Smoking and drinking
Snoring is more common when you smoke and drink. Alcohol relaxes the muscles of the throat, and tobacco smoke inflames the lining of your throat. Both of these factors lead to a narrowing of the airway. The airway may narrow, causing the airflow to become more turbulent.
Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes at least two hours before going to bed. It is best to keep your drinking and smoking to a minimum to prevent snoring. It will not only reduce your snoring but also improve your overall health.
