41. Roland Has News
Roland replied, “I’m not sure it’s strange, sheriff. I think it was meant to be.”
The audience smiled and clapped. Grady thought he was in a dream. How could things have changed so rapidly? How could his hometown, which he had known for years, be so captivated by this stranger?
Roland continued, “And speaking of,” he said, “I’ve got something important I want to show you at the Fourth of Jul celebration.” You will not want to miss this. 2 P.M., sharp. “Be there.”
42. Grady Threatens
It was more of an order than a sales pitch.
Grady was right behind him. He spun the man around by grabbing his arm. He stared into Roland’s narrow, dark eyes. The man’s cheeks were glowing red. He was disgusting.
Grady replied, “Nice Braveheartspeech Roland.” “Look, I have no idea what you are up to. I don’t know who you are.But you’re finished. Hear?”
