How your favorite athletes have earned their way to the top

Lance Armstrong – $50 Million

Lance Armstrong was a professional cyclist at the height of his career. He had an impressive fortune of $125,000,000. His scandalous doping history cost him more than half his fortune. A lot of the money was spent on settling lawsuits.

Armstrong’s financial situation changed dramatically after he lost all his $75 million endorsement deals in one day. Armstrong’s net worth was $50 million when his investments, like the Uber deal, were profitable.

Roger Federer – $450 Million

Roger Federer, born in Switzerland is one of the best tennis players in the world. He shares the most Grand Slam singles titles (20) with Rafael Nadal. Federer is currently ranked 4th, but he spent 310 weeks on top of the list.

Federer’s career has helped him earn $450 million, though a large chunk of that fortune comes from endorsements. He is currently under contract with Uniqlo in Asia, which will pay him $300 million over ten years. Federer is sponsored by brands such as Gillette, Barilla, and Lindt, while he also promotes Credit Suisse and Rolex.
