Ever wondered why animals lick their injuries? It is so common that the phrase “licking wounds” was born. Saliva has antiseptic qualities, meaning that it can kill germs on the body. If you have enough to keep bacteria at bay, then you can avoid bad breath.
Citric acid can be used to stimulate saliva production. Just chew some orange or lemon and you’ll feel your mouth becoming wetter. Even without food in the mouth, chewing triggers a salivation reflex. Drinking more water will help you to have a moist mouth.
