Fur between your dog’s toes can be adjusted
You can clip the fur off if it’s long between his toes. It is easier (and safer) to do this than to try to clip between his toes.
Curly Coats
Keep your dog’s hair short to prevent matting and tangling. To keep your dog’s curls in check, use a fine-tooth comb (such as a flea-comb) to remove the fur from their skin, and straight grooming scissors.
Brush Out the Fur
You can fluff up the coat of your curly-coated dog by using a soft, curved Slicker Brush .
Cut Hair
You may need to use electric clippers if the hair on your curly-coated dog is too long for a simple pair. With a pair snap-on guide clippers and these, start by trimming your dog’s back. Move from the shoulder down to the tail. Work your way slowly around the body of your dog, and then move on to the chest/belly. Then, clip their legs from the shoulder/hip region down to the paw.
Use Safety Round Tip Scissors to Work Around Your Face
To trim the curls on their faces, use safety round-tip scissors. Pull the fur from the face using a fine-toothed comb such as a flea comb before cutting it.
Professional groomers can be great when your dog’s coat needs a complete overhaul or if you want to fine tune certain areas, like the muzzle and face. If you don’t have the time to visit a professional groomer, there are some simple ways that you can trim your dog’s hair between visits. Take precautions and practice safety whenever necessary.
