Most people forget to do it
Handwashing is important in the prevention and treatment of illnesses, but it’s something that many people forget. Only 19% of people wash their hands globally after using the toilet. Twenty-five percent in the United States forget to wash their hand at critical moments, such as after using the toilet or blowing their nose. Handwashing is a habit that must be developed. When handwashing is not an option, hand sanitizer can be used to clean hands.
Handwashing reminders can be placed near sinks at home. Handwashing reminders can be set up on the phone to remind people while they’re at work or away. Children must be reminded to wash their hands at home and to use proper handwashing methods.
