Kazakh golden Eagle Hunters
Location: Bayan-Olgii Province, Mongolia
Boys can start wearing the furs they catch at age 13, after they prove that they can lift the weight of an eagle. They have moved around the Altai Mountains semi-nomadic since the 19th Century. Around 100,000 people live in the Altai Mountains, but only 250 eagle-hunters remain.
Future Outlook: As young men begin to leave this male-dominated sport, women are beginning to join in to keep it going.
