Himba herders, Namibia

Location: Namibia
Himba are semi-nomadic people who live in northwest Namibia and southern Angola. They live in tipi structures made of mud and dung when stationary. A curious fact: In homage to Mukuru, they keep a 24-hour-a-day ancestral fire going. Cattle is the measure of wealth, but goats are a regular part in their diet.
Future outlook: Although there are still between 20,000 and 30,000 tribal members left, they are constantly under threat from new developments. Many still maintain their traditional way of life.
