Danny felt a growing bond with the kitten as he drove. As they drove, the kitten began to purr contentedly. It seemed that it sensed his attention and care. The locals’ opposition to him taking the kitten away seemed to fade into the background for a brief moment. All that mattered at the time was finding a safe home for the kitten.
