Raised by a wealthy family

Louis Bardot, a Frenchman, and Anne-Marie Bardot, a Roman Catholic, gave birth to Brigitte Bardot in Paris on September 28th, 1934. Brigitte was raised in a Roman Catholic upper-middle class household. Marie-Jeanne grew to be a writer and actress, just like her younger sister. Her father and her grandfather owned a family engineering business.

Brigitte began attending Cours Hattemer when she was just seven years old. She went to school there three days a weeks, and studied at home the other two. She also took three dance classes a week at Madame Bourget’s studio. Even at a young, she was a dedicated and hardworking student. The mentality she had in her younger years would carry on.
