4. Grandiosity
It’s like having a self esteem that is wildly exaggerated and unfounded. This is often seen in people who use street drugs, but this grandiosity comes naturally to those with Bipolar Disorder.
This is unfounded and often annoying. On occasion, it can be funny or lighthearted, but this is more common in a hypomanic condition. It can also lead to dangerous, unreasonable, or even random pursuits. Joe may think to himself (out of nowhere) that he’s the best guitarist in Texas, and could become famous worldwide, so he decides to take a road-trip to Nashville, Tennessee, to show off his talent.
He might play guitar but he’s not a professional. The mental state itself is not harmful, but the thoughts and actions that are based on it can be. Also, they may be condescending to others, assumant their unfounded, high-and-mighty state.
