Best places to visit in 2023

Ras al-Khaimah (United Arab Emirates)

Dubai’s dazzling skyline is what most people think of when they hear about the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE also has much to offer to nature lovers, especially the northernmost emirate Ras al-Khaimah. It aims to be the Middle East’s sustainable destination by the year 2025 with a new “Balanced tourism” strategy.

It’s no wonder that it is often called “the adventure Emirate” because it is only 45 minutes away from Dubai. Outdoor attractions are plentiful, including beaches, mountains and deserts. These include sandboarding, trekking and wakeboarding.

It’s not just about the rush of adrenaline. In Ras Al Khaimah, you can find the highest restaurant of the United Arab Emirates. It is 1484 By Puro and it’s located in the Jebel Jais mountains. The Dhayah Fort is a cultural destination that dates back to the Late Bronze Age (1600-1300 BC).

Where should I stay? Anantara, a luxury hospitality brand, will open a new resort in Thailand later this year. The resort will feature 174 guestrooms as well as suites and villas over the water. It will also include specialty restaurants and spas. – Karla Cripps
