Processed Foods
Processed food contains a number of ingredients that can cause inflammation. Trans-fats and partially hydrogenated oils are among the worst. The partially hydrogenated oils cause systemic inflammation, which can lead to heart disease and cancer.
Even a small amount of trans-fats can be harmful. Trans-fats help to keep food fresh, and are found in many foods, including baked goods, potato chips, microwave popcorn, margarine, refrigerator dough, fried foods, and fried foods.
