Saturated Fat
Red meat, butter, and cheese are all high in saturated fats. Saturated fats cause inflammation of fat tissue. This type of inflammation can be dangerous to your heart, and it is also known to worsen arthritis pain.
Another problem with red meat is the presence of advanced glycation products (AGEs). AGEs stimulate inflammation. AGEs are formed when food is heated to high temperatures, such as by grilling, toasting or broiling. High levels of AGEs are linked to inflammation-related illnesses like diabetes, kidney failure, heart disease and Alzheimer’s.
