7. Leafy Green Veggies
Leafy green veggies are immune-boosting and disease-fighting in any context. These vegetables are a perfect choice for a healthy diet. They’re low on calories, fats and sodium. But they are high in vitamins and minerals. Leafy greens are spinach, romaine, cabbage, watercress and collards. The darker the color of the green, the better. Vitamin C and beta-carotene are among the antioxidants that can help fight cancer.
There’s more good news when it comes to cancer – they reprogram cancerous cells to die, and stop them from multiplying and dividing as normal cells do. They also contain carcinogens that are inactive. Chewing leafy greens produces biologically active compounds which inhibit cancer cell growth. These compounds are known as indoles thiocyanates and isothiocyanates.
