11. Turmeric and other herbs, spices, and herbs
Turmericis commonly used in curries. Turmeric is yellow-orange, powdered, and comes from the roots of the plant. Turmeric contains curcumin which is, as we have seen in relation to garcinia earlier, one of the strongest ingredients in a diet that fights cancer. The active ingredient curcumin has been shown to reduce tumor size, and is especially effective in colon and breast cancer. It is high in antioxidants, similar to chili or capsicum. This helps boost immunity and heal the body.
Black pepper can help increase the bioavailability and absorption of turmeric. Together, they will help fight inflammation that occurs when outside invaders are trying to do harm. One teaspoon of turmeric powder with 1/4 teaspoon black pepper is recommended each day. This can be consumed as a warm lemon drink or in an omelet or scrambled egg.
