8. Normal White Discharge
Normal vaginal discharge is usually white. It can be different shades of white. It is normal for the discharge to occur before or during ovulation. If the discharge is accompanied with burning, itching or a strong smell, this could be cause for alarm. In some cases, white vaginal discharge can be a sign of infection.
If there is an infection, the discharge looks like cottage cheese. This type of discharge can be caused by a fungus infection. A yeast infection is usually caused by an overgrowth of Candida. Candida is a fungus. The most common bacterial vaginosis causes a white discharge that has a strong odor of fish. Itching and burning in the vaginal area during urination can be symptoms of a yeast infection.
