2. Menstrual cycle begins
The cycle is different for every woman. There are certain similarities in the monthly cycle. You may only notice a small amount of vaginal discharge or none at all right before the menstrual period begins. The levels of estrogen and progesterone are low on the first day. The cervix is unlikely to produce much fluid during this period.
It is hard to determine how much discharge is present on the first day because the cervical fluid has been mixed with blood and endometrial tissues, along with the dissolved egg. It is normal to have a white discharge in the days before your period. You may also experience a liquid discharge on the first or second day of your period.
